Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing weekly menus based on facility requirements; ordering and maintaining sufficient food supplies for the facility; ensuring the preparation of three meals and two snacks on a daily basis each day conducting a tool inventory after all meals; teaching culinary skills, basic and/or advanced, to female offenders rotating through as kitchen crew; and supervising the kitchen crew. Oversee the safe and efficient operation for the culinary area, purchase and properly store food, ensure kitchen activities conform to policy and procedures and with State and local health department sanitation requirements; provide weekly trainings on food etiquette, shopping, food budgeting and preparation of meals as part of life skills curriculum; supervise inmate schedules and in the kitchen; display regular and reliable attendance to include reporting and departing on time.

GED or High School Diploma
Must be at least 25 years of age
Minimum of one year of experience in the efficient operation of culinary area
