    About the Program: 

    This program provides non-residential alcohol and other drug recovery, outreach and intervention services to participants with alcohol and other drug-induced problems. Goals of this program include assisting clients who use, misuse or abuse alcohol and other drugs to become crime and alcohol and drug-free.  North County Center for Change provides a highly structured and strictly monitored treatment alternative to incarceration for persons arrested for non-violent drug violations.

    Position Description

    • Provides substance abuse counseling, case management and education services.
    • Counselors interact with clients on a day-to-day basis providing individual and group counseling and education, as well as engaging in rehabilitation activities from time-to-time.
    • Counselors provide substance abuse recovery skills and information and leadership necessary to provide clients with the ability to recover from substance abuse addiction.
    • Counselor facilitates in helping the client break the cycle of substance abuse that has led to their involvement in the criminal justice system and must interact appropriately with the judicial
      part of the North County Drug Court team. 
    • The Male Counselor will be required to collect UA samples from the male clients as needed.

    • Valid certification through a recognized alcohol and drug certification entity.
    • Experience working with alcohol and drug related issues/addictions in a criminal justice setting preferred.
    • Salary determined and based upon experience.
