    Position Description

    Responsible for management of the data-to-day operations of MHS’s IT systems and providing technical support for all MHS staff members, clients and affiliates in regard to computer hardware, software, operating system, networking and storage.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Supports all IT related on-premise and cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure) infrastructures, including network, servers, workstations, hardware, and applications.
    • Directs and prioritizes day-to-day activities of help desk, infrastructure, networking, security, IT hardware, software, and application support
    • Leads system performance and capacity planning
    • Ensures maximum up-time and performance for network and Windows servers and desktops
    • Develops and implements disaster recovery and business continuity plans 
    • Monitors and maintains anti-virus, spyware, and malware management solutions
    • Administers AD, DNS, DHCP, FTP, and SSL (CA) services
    • Administers Office 365, Dynamics GP, Dynamics CRM and SharePoint
    • Implements and supports Microsoft WSUS, Group Policies, and SQL 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014 servers
    • Deploys and managers user administration
    • Oversees Patch Management for devices, servers, and applications
    • Documents, maintains, and executes policies, procedures, and service level agreements for IT operations
    • Ensures that policies and procedures for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting the network are complete, accurate and up-to-date
    • Ensure strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures such as change management, configuration management, and security and access control
    • Provides team development opportunities and conducts staff performance appraisals
    • Provides IT Director with regular department status reports
    • Works with other departments to ensure and verify customer satisfaction
    • Develops and maintains training documentation for internal procedures and best-practices
    • Stays knowledgeable on related industry trends and forecasts to increase overall efficiency
    • Travels to branch offices to assess technology problems or needs.
    • As needed, performs hands-on technical system administration, including, but not limited to, server, router, and network maintenance
    • Identifies and manages working relationships with IT suppliers, vendors, consultants, and other experts
    • Oversees project management and day-to-day IT operations
    • Leads planning sessions, prioritizes, and coordinates initiatives (including BCP) with business unit operations and IT to ensure successful project implementation
    • Works with the various business units to assist with due diligence and RFP requests
    • Consistently communicates management goals and objectives to IT team members
    • Provides a client-focused perspective to the IT operations
    • Establishs and manages strong relationships with critical vendors and outsourced partners
    • Leads, coaches, supervises, and develops staff.
    • Oversees and manages business continuity and planning of disaster recovery processes.
    • Creates written technical documentation

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Bachelors in a technical discipline, certification in Windows Server Administration, or equivalent work experience
    • Previous management experience
    • A+ Certification or equivalent knowledge and skill
    • At least two years of technical support experience
    • At least one year of experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows O/S
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to:

    Knowledge and Experience with:

    • Switches, Barracuda Spam and Virus Filters, VLANS routing, and VPN
    • All aspects of IT operations, including business requirement analysis and design, systems and development, systems operations, and life-cycle management
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Administrating SQL Server
    • Configuring, building and maintaining Windows Servers, Exchange Server 2013/2016 mailboxes, Office 365, Skype for Business, Virtual Servers using Hyper-V
    • Managing a cloud infrastructure, such as AWS and Azure
    • Clustering, load balancing, and high available server technology for SQL, web servers, and Hyper-V
    • Performing backups and implementing a backup strategy
    • Virus Management using eSet or other related solutions
    • Microsoft Windows 10, Server 2012, 2013, 2016, Active Directory, and Group Polices
    • Experience managing complex cross functional enterprise IT projects
    • Networking - routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP and VLANs
    • Defining or testing disaster recovery strategies

    • MCP, Microsoft Certified Professional
    • MCSE, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
    • MCSA, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
    • MTA, Microsoft Technology Associate
    • CNNA, Cisco Certified Network Associate
    • CCNP, Cisco Certified Network Professional
    • ITIL V3 Foundation Certification
