    The Mariposa Clubhouse is a bio-psychosocial rehabilitation program serving individuals living with mental health issues. Clubhouse members participate in social, educational, and vocational activities that promote self-reliance. Trained staff provide side-by-side support as clubhouse members work towards achieving their goals.

    Position Description

    Serves as mentor to clubhouse members to achieve their highest potential in life skills. Uses cooking knowledge to provide members nutrition classes and healthy choices. Uses his/her unique life and recovery experiences to mentor Clubhouse members. Functions as a colleague and role model working in partnership with Clubhouse members and other staff in all facets of the Clubhouse program.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides peer support to members with setting and reaching goals.
    • Maintains a recovery environment throughout the Clubhouse.
    • Encourages members to participate in the Clubhouse activities and tasks.
    • Ensures that members follow Clubhouse rules and standards.
    • Provides work opportunities in the Kitchen and Café.
    • Instructs members how to work the cash register.
    • Uses experience and knowledge to mentor those members who set employment goals.
    • Engages and involves members in all aspects of unit, including activity and work planning of the lunch menu.
    • Consistently encourages members to assume leadership roles within the unit.
    • Responsible for handling the cash register, including counting the money, opening and closing cash register.
    • In charge of providing members coffee or snacks. Ensuring coffee, creamer, and sugar is ready for members to use.
    • Responsible for adding or deducting points that are earned by members. Responsible to print point/task sheets for the entire week.
    • Ensures housekeeping supplies are available and stocked, including cups, plates, utensils, napkins, and paper towels.
    • Responsible for preparing lunch and having the assistance of members prepare meals. In charge of the lunch sign in sheet.
    • Ensure kitchen is clean, organized and sanitized. Including cleaning oven once a month and deep cleaning the refrigerator every Friday.
    • Ensures the dining area is clean, including sweeping and moping of the dinning and kitchen floors.
    • Facilitates community meetings.
    • Provides nutrition class on a monthly basis to members.
    • Ensures tables and chairs are assembled, dismantled, and stored.
    • Responsible for weekly food budget and weekly grocery store shopping.  
    • Responsible for making a food list along with the members.
    • Will create weekly menu and submit each Friday. Responsible for 1 new recipe a week.
    • Ensuring that recycling gets done once a month.
    • Enters mileage when using the van.
    • Responsible for maintaining the van in good working conditions and making sure gas tank is full.
    • Provides original grocery store receipts to the Program Manager or Lead Generalist.
    • Responsible for throwing trash daily and placing new trash bags.
    • Monitors washer and dryer usage.
    • Signs members onto computers and monitors usage.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops positive working relationships with clubhouse members and staff.
    • Treats all clubhouse members and staff in a professional, respectful and friendly manner.
    • Displays a positive attitude towards working with clubhouse members and staff.
    • Demonstrates willingness to participate in both day, weekend, and overnight excursions.
    • Complies with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.
    • Demonstrates adequate care and responsibility for equipment.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Successful completion of PET training provided by RI International.
    • Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma/GED and significant experience with individuals with mental illness.
    • Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
    • Ability to meet the requirements to drive program van.
    • Access to personal vehicle may be required for business matters.
