    North Coastal Mental Health Center serves young adults, adults and older adults with severe and persistent mental illness who are uninsured, indigent or have MediCal and /or Medicare insurance. We provide a wide range of services to assist clients in their recovery and enhance their well-being.

    Position Description

    The clinician performs a range of psychotherapeutic and rehabilitative interventions including psychosocial assessment,individual and group counseling,crisis intervention and limited case management as needed. 



    • Works closely with Psychiatrist to monitor the psychiatric well-being of clients.
    • Serves as Care Coordinator for a case load of clients as assigned by the Program Manager.
    • Provides group and individual counseling,relapse prevention and crisis intervention.
    • Performs psychosocial assessments.
    • Practices the principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery.
    • Interacts therapeutically with clients and exhibits boundaries consistent with professional standards.
    • Completes all charting and documentation as contractually required and in a timely manner as dictated by program requirements.
    • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related filed.
    • Registered as an intern in the State of California is preferred.
    • Two years of experience working with mentally ill populations.
    • One year of experience working with acute psychiatric and dually diagnosed individuals is preferred.
