    Position Description


    This position exists to provide support to the Quality Improvement (QI) Department. The QI Support Specialist works directly with the Director of Quality Improvement and department staff, interfacing with all levels of management of the clinical divisions and the Corporate Office. Under the direction of the Quality Improvement Director, incumbent provides support to the QI department in a wide variety of situations. Incumbent performs administrative and analytical work requiring independent judgment, a high level of confidentiality and discretion.


    • Performs word processing, spreadsheet operations and database operations using an MS Windows compatible computer format and MS Office software.
    • Prepares reports and correspondence, as directed by the QI Director.
    • Completes medical insurance risk audits, as directed by the QI Supervisor.
    • Assist QI Department with assigned EHR Helpdesk tickets.
    • Assist QI Department with HIPAA site visits and report writing.
    • Responsible for program assistance with client chart archiving and is the lead with client chart destruction events.
    • Responsible for maintaining MHS program audits both electronically and hardcopies.
    • Typical support duties and responsibilities such as proofing materials, preparing reports, meeting minutes and drafting correspondence.
    • Maintaining and development of client record storage, archiving, and
    • Ability to analyze and resolve problems, determines priorities, meet deadlines, and demonstrate initiative relieving the QI Department of routine administrative details with limited.
    • Responsible for coordinating department responses to program and external entities (e.g. county, state, federal, and/or funders, etc.) on behalf of the QI.
    • Responsible for contract files and record.
    • Oversight and deployment of the contract required Client Satisfaction Survey process.

    • Procedure manuals and an ability to interpret these effectively to staff, family members and community
    • Resourcefulness, initiative and the ability to work with minimal direction
    • Utilizes logical problem-solving techniques both independently and in collaboration with co-workers
    • Complete job tasks with minimal oversight
    • Create written documentation that is legible, clear, and concise
    • Set priorities and reacts appropriately to emergency situations

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Experience with federal and state privacy and security regulations (e.g. HIPAA, 42 CFR, Part 2 and CMIA) required
    • A minimum of three years of high level administrative experience required
    • Experience with electronic health records strongly preferred
    • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
    • Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications (Outlook, Excel, Access, Power Point, Word)
    • Mastery of proper English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation and complex document formatting
    • Non-profit and corporate experience preferred
