    Our Family Recovery Center (FRC) is a residential treatment program dedicated to assisting women recover from substance abuse, while promoting healthy family reunification. FRC serves pregnant and parenting women and their children through the age of 10. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that offers a holistic approach to recovery that includes addiction education and treatment, physical wellness, and meeting the psychiatric needs of our clients.

    Position Description


    The Residential Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of a safe, residential recovery environment. The Residential Assistant also provides various support services to clients and clinical treatment staff.




    • Maintain security procedures for the facility, including searches of belongings and persons.
    • Know and support the treatment plan of individual clients as provided by treatment team.
    • Interact with residents in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner at all times.
    • Collect periodic and random urinalysis samples from clients.
    • Facilitate the flow of daily scheduled activities, including meals, treatment, recreational activities, visitation, volunteer activities, etc.
    • Provide support and crisis intervention to residential clients when primary counselor is not available.
    • Maintain client file documentation as required by evaluation and contractual requirements.
    • Oversee residents’ rooms – room searches and checks on cleanliness and hygiene.
    • Be appropriate role model to clients at all times.
    • Provide administrative support as required.
    • Aids in general management of center including running errands as assigned.
    • Completes all assigned duties within the time frame and according to the standards as established by the Program Manager. 
    • Complies with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPPA standards.
    • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by attending in-service trainings and staff development programs, and seeking out supervision when needed.
    • Demonstrates adequate care and responsibility for equipment. Reports and/or repairs missing or damaged equipment and supplies.
    • Ensures facilities upkeep and safety by maintaining neat and clean work areas, by securing work area at close of business day, and by reporting vandalism, theft, or suspicion of drug abuse by coworkers to supervisor as soon as possible.
    • Familiar with and understands Mental Health Systems, Inc. Personnel Policy manual and follows all established personnel policies

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Experience dealing with people and good interactive skills
    • Experience in crisis intervention, mediation
