    About Action East

    ssertive Community Treatment Intensive Outreach Needs (ACTION) East program offers a dual track treatment model for individuals in the East San Diego area who have either been diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or a chronic substance use disorder. Services include medication management and monitoring, individual therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment, case management, employment support, peer counseling and support, and housing services. ACTION East provides a safe environment in which our clients can address all their treatment needs.

    Position Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Program Supervisor, is a licensed LMFT or LCSW who provides clinical supervision, administrative management, and personnel direction for the services provided by the staff. The Incumbent provides direct services to clients (including 24-hour crisis intervention), individual and group case consultation and manages BA and MA level license eligible staff and student interns. Decisions relating to clinical issues at the program level are made in conjunction with the Program Manager.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assistant to Program Manager of day-to-day operations, and supervises Facilitators, Case Managers, and Counselors.
    • Responsible for program outreach and recruitment, and transports clients in MHS or personal vehicle as needed.
    • Coordination and management of all agency referrals and referral process and will attend County meetings as designated and appropriate to provide on-site facilitation of referrals.
    • Provides warm referrals to clients and/or family members that do not meet program criteria who have unmet needs, including but not limited to, referrals to access and crisis line and other system and community partners, or back to a Health Plan provider, and is available for on-call crisis consultation 24/7, as well as working after-hours as scheduled.
    • Supports program by designing and evaluating outcome tools to evaluate program effectiveness, and provide required documentation and reports, both clinical and administrative.
    • Provides case consultation, supervision, and coaching to clinical staff as needed.
    • Attends Eligibility and Enrollment meetings and other appropriate community, agency meetings and task forces.
    • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by attending in-service trainings and staff development programs, and seeking out supervision when needed, and oversees and facilitates trainings for staff.
    • Manages training log to ensure timely facilitation of required CEUs and annual trainings.
    • Complies with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards. Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings, and provides input towards policy and procedure design, revision, and deletion.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field preferred.
    • Current Licenser as a Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or similar licenser, and maintain good standing with Licensing Board, with no less than two years of post-licenser clinical experience.
    • Three years of counseling experience as a licensed professional in a mental health field with at least five years working with co-occurring mental health disorders and substance abuse, and familiarity with treatment systems.
